Hot Water Hills Oct. 3-5, 2014

The 4th annual Hot Water Hills Music and Arts Festival will be held in downtown Hot Springs October 3, 4, and 5, 2014.  Hot Springs is known for quirky, fun events, and Hot Water Hills fits right in!  There will be music of all types, an art fair displaying only handmade art, a vintage rummage sale (goods will be at least 30 years old), food, beer, kids activities, and an on site art installation.

Gates open at 4pm on Friday at Hill Wheatley Plaza (Central Ave. at Reserve Street) with the Hot Springs Music Festival Chorus taking the stage at 5pm.  Amasa Hines closes the evening’s performances at 10:30 pm.  Saturday gates open at noon with free admission until 4pm.  The Art Fair and Retro Rummage Sale will be open throughout the festival.  There will be a kids concert at 5pm, and the Hot Springs Hot Spots songwriter showcase begins at 6pm.  Gates open at 12 noon on Sunday with music from 12:30pm to 7pm.

There will also be a “Cardboard City” built by local teams for the kids to play in and around.  Structures will be designed using cardboard, twine, and duct tape.  It’s always interesting to see what these imaginative artists can create! The 2012 Hot Water Hills Festival earned a Zero Waste Event Certification by producing less than 10 lbs. of landfill waste.  Recycling, upcycling, solar and hydro power, composting, and borrowed and donated items are all part of the festival’s objective to lessen the impact on the environment.

Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the gate.  View the schedule for activities, workshops, and music.  While you’re making plans for this fun weekend, don’t forget to schedule some relaxation time for yourselves in one of our fabulous rooms.  We’ll start off your day with breakfast at Tiffany’s, and you’ll have time to create a few porch swing memories before your quick drive to Hot Springs for a day filled with music, art, and quirkiness!
