2013 Sunbelt Conference Championships will be held in Hot Springs

For the fifth year in a row, Hot Springs will host the Sunbelt Conference Men’s and Women’s basketball championships March 8-11.  Sunbelt tournament champions will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.  The championships will be held at Summit Arena in the Hot Springs Convention Center in downtown Hot Springs.

Prior to the tournament, the Sunbelt Conference will sponsor “Day at the Races” at Oaklawn Park on Thursday, March 7.  The fun continues with the Tournament Tip-Off Celebration at 6pm that evening.  Coaches and players will be available for autographs, school mascots will be available for pictures, and free hot dogs, popcorn and sodas will be served.  At 6:30pm, the Pep Band Spectacular will start with a concert by the conference schools pep bands, cheerleaders and dance teams.

The Women’s games start at 12pm on Friday, March 8, and the Men’s games begin at 6:30 pm that night.  The first two days will feature games on two courts.   Tickets for the tournament can be purchased from any Sunbelt Conference school, or at Summit Arena or Ticketmaster.  Individual game tickets are $15.

Now we all know there is nothing more exciting than cheering your favorite team to victory and being close to the action.  However, once the games are over, you’re probably going to want to rest in peace and quiet so that you can recharge and be ready for the next day’s games.  And let’s face it – a hotel with rowdy college kids running up and down the halls all night is not exactly conducive to a good night’s sleep.  But Tiffany’s Bed and Breakfast has just the solution for you!  Spend the night in our wonderful beds, wake up to Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and then you’ll be ready to join your team in singing “We are the champions…”!
